There is still hope for you and your spouse if you are having problems due to your spouse's cheating. Infidelity is just a sign of weakness in the marriage. Your spouse had a reason for doing what they did. A majority of the time it is because the starts have aligned in a certain way. Your spouse may have had a tough day at work and you were out doing something. Or maybe the sex has been diminishing in your relationship. What ever the reason, there is no excuse. But the marriage can be repaired if both you and your spouse are still devoted to each other and your relationship.

Listen to your spouse. Do not break in on the conversation while they are talking to you. You want to show them that you can be an understanding spouse even in the most difficult time. Try to pick up on the reasons for the cheating.

If your spouse is actually talking with you about the cheating, they have to be feeling really bad about what they have done. This is a good time to take the high road and offer your spouse forgiveness for the infidelity. You do not need to give them your full trust yet. Communicate that they have your forgiveness, but the trust is going to need to be earned back over a period of time.

This may be a good time for you and your spouse to start dating. Go out and try to reignite the passion that was once in your relationship. Every couple now and then needs to work on getting that spark back in the relationship. Go out on a date or two. Do the things that you used to do together when you both first meet and started dating.
