Can Jimmy Johnson Survive on Celebrity Survivor?

Expert Author Lisa A Mason

Jimmy Johnson, the former coach of the Dallas Cowboys has been chosen to compete on the popular reality show Survivor. The location of the latest version of Survivor is going to be set in Nicaragua. This is not the first time Jimmy has wanted to compete on this television show as he wanted to compete two years ago but had health issues that kept him out of the competition. Apparently he is now fit enough to take on the grueling and challenging reality show.

The Survivor series takes people out of the comforts of their homes. They are put into the wilderness with no cell phones or any other way to contact the outside world. There are competitions for money and prizes during the length of their stay. These contests can be physically challenging and many of the rewards are food as they are not given any food stuffs initially and have to live off the land.

Competitors vote to eliminate one contestant a week and the loser has no choice but to walk away. The show is famous for the bonds that are created and broken and many of the players work together to remove those contestants that they see as a threat. This type of dramatic series makes for great television and the show is popular in many countries around the world. It's even more fun when you throw in some celebrities that we all know and love. Who doesn't want to see their favorite stars deserted on an island and forced to fend for themselves while also battling the other survivors who all want to be the ultimate Survivor?

But then it makes many wonder if Jimmy Johnson is going to have the stamina at age 67 to take on these grueling tasks and if he has the wherewithal to play the mental games that are going to take place. Even younger contestants can be broken down easily in the harsh environments that they are placed in and one has to be strong physically and mentally. Perhaps Jimmy is tired of being a football commentator and wants to get back into the world of competition. Maybe he's just a huge fan of Survivor and wants his own turn at the experience.

There are some Jimmy Johnson fans who are reeling with excitement at the Cowboys coach on the show while others believe he should stick home and play with his grandkids. Should he retire and leave Survivor to the younger crowd? What do you think about Jimmy Johnson on Survivor?
