Have you ever wondered if it would be possible for you to perform a reverse phone number lookup without paying any money at all? Well, you may be happy to hear that the answer to your question is yes...sort of. There are some backward telephone searches that are absolutely free, while others consistently require searching fees. What is the mysterious difference between these two kinds of query?
Could it be in the results that you achieve? No; in both cases you'll discover the same thing about the phone number, including the name and the address. So what makes the fee-based searches worth paying for, while others are absolutely free?
The difference is between the kind of number you'll be searching for: a mobile number or a landline. Cellular numbers are private information and, though they are available for a reverse phone search to protect the people who are phoned by cellular subscribers. Therefore, to be able to access the information, you will need to pay a small fee. This helps to protect cell phone service subscribers from having their numbers revealed to the wrong parties - such as telemarketers who would call them at inappropriate times, costing them money on their service plan.
Landlines, on the other hand, are public domain information that contain data that is free for everybody to use and to see. This is the same information that you'd find in your printed telephone book, only on the internet it is searchable in many more ways. Everything from the name, address, and phone number become useful searching tools.
So if anybody ever asks you if it is possible to perform a free phone search, then you will know that the answer is a qualified yes. However, you just need to know what kind of telephone numbers fit within that category, as they are not all free to be investigated. Keep in mind, though, that the free numbers include the landlines for both individuals and for businesses, making it possible to find out if a telemarketer has contacted you while you were away, leaving the number on the Caller ID.
