A recent John Hopkins study on caffeine will probably result in caffeine withdrawal being added into the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental disorders. Caffeine has been associated with many side effects, some detrimental in nature.
Some of the more detrimental side effects of caffeine have demonstrated such symptoms as headaches, tiredness, and an impaired ability to concentrate. Other users have reported a degree of nervousness and some anxiety if they do not consume their usual dose for the day.
I am an avid coffee drinker, (6 cups per day). I don't bother with the "decaffeinated" stuff, as it just doesn't seem to have the kick. I additionally consume the typical root beer sodas and occasional coca colas that I am sure are loaded with caffeine. Speaking for myself, I know that when I don't get my morning coffee, I am a totally different person. I feel anxious and can actually get cravings. Did anybody say caffeine addiction?
Well anyway, I have been trying to cut back on my caffeine intake. Unfortunately that is easier said then done. I have been starting to consume more fruit juices and natural bottled water. I eat chocolate throughout the day, and that seems to give me that little perk that I need. I know what you're saying about the chocolate, but hopefully it has fewer levels of caffeine then my straight up black coffee. Well, we will wait for the final research to come in. But for now, I am starting to cut back on my caffeine intake.
