Poker or Texas Hold 'Em?

A friendly game of poker in your home is a welcome entertainment for friends who are tired of doing the rounds of bars and clubs. Hosting a game of home poker is legal as long as the game is not played for the host's profits and the stakes are within legal limits. So there is no legal impediment when it comes to hosting a poker game at home but there may be trouble if you pepper the poker room with CCTV security cameras.

When planning a grand poker party, there are things you should do first like asking the people you have invited if they prefer Poker or Texas Hold 'Em. When the people troop to your doorstep everybody is ready to play the game, whether it is poker or Texas Hold 'Em. But if they know you have CCTV security cameras in your poker room, no one will be knocking on your door on Friday night.

It becomes a toss-up between having some CCTV security cameras in the gaming room or not. If you have to have a spy camera in the room, don't aim its focus on the table, but if you must have them let the people know that the CCTV security camera is not focused on the cards but rather on the door to keep track of people coming and going. Should they smell a spy camera without your telling them, you can be sued for breaching their privacy.

Everyone knows that casinos are littered with CCTV security cameras. But a friendly game of poker at home does not need sophisticated spy gadgetry. Unless you are hosting a poker game and an all-nighter at the same time, you need security cameras to protect your house from intruders.

Preparing for Friday Night Poker

Planning a poker party is easy. Call your friends and ask them over on Friday and inform them that you will all be playing poker. Tell them that there is one not a slew of CCTV security cameras in the gaming room and assure them that it is there to track people entering and going out of the room and for everybody's security too. You can ask them to bring their wireless camera detectors for good measure to satisfy them.

For the party prepare a 52 card deck and poker chips and other poker paraphernalia. Set a red tablecloth with black hemming for a card effect. For your round table, a round stained glass lamp will be nice. If you have more players, use an octagon poker table that can seat seven players or a 79"x36" folding table with 10 player positions.

Crank up your jazz collection. Turn on the grill for barbecue treats, and whip up salsa and dips to go with tortilla chips. Prepare tons of sandwiches and drinks, players are always hungry and thirsty; plied with food and drink and an exciting game of poker your poker party will be talked about for weeks, with no mention of your CCTV security cameras because they know about the one in the poker room, so it is no big deal.

CCTV security cameras work best with a closed circuit television. Want to set up a CCTV system? Ask the gurus at Video-Surveillance-Guide.com for hot tips and advice.
