Like everyone else you probably assume all of those bloggers write all of that content on their own. Well, here comes a big spoiler: they pay people to do it for them. In fact there is a very good reason why they do this and why you may want to either consider providing content or purchasing content for your own blogs.
The internet is still starved for content. Even though it is increasing in offerings of information every day it is still sadly lacking in accurate and relevant information. For me I prefer to blog only on subjects regarding topics which I am either already familiar with or that I can easily understand. The majority of my content writing is on real estate, mortgages, internet development, web coding and small business issues. Since these are the topics which have made up most of my fifty years it is easy for me to quickly create content relative to the subject.
Websites which are rarely updated are also rarely indexed by the search engines. Google would have no reason to index a site which has a history of static content for months on end. However Google may index a website multiple times per day which has a pattern of updating the content at least once per day. For search engines, much as network news, the first to break the story has an advantage over the others.
Writing blog content can simply mean plain text files created and sent to the blog owner to post at their leisure. It may also include creating the actual HTML code for the post including links, images and formatting. A professional content provider will know how to create links, which text to link and how to title the link to give the most satisfaction to the search robots.
Search spiders do more than just read linear text and create a link to a page. In fact they must evaluate several attributes of the page, the site on which the page resides, the number of inbound links and from where they originate, the number of outbound links and to where they lead, the use of title on links and images, the actual title of the page, and about that many more attributes as well. In fact, one of the more important pieces of the puzzle is keyword saturation and how that satisfies the robot's algorithm.
Search algorithms are proprietary and secretive but the caretakers give us many clues along with important information they need for us to know to properly work in harmony with them. Misuse of the knowledge is often called "black hatting" or "black hat techniques" and can result in a web page or web site being blacklisted or banned from the index. Going over the limit of the algorithm's requirements for key word saturation is one of the top reasons for exclusion. Being linked to from known black hat sites is another way.
If you want to provide search optimized content to bloggers or businesses make sure you get an education on search engine metrics and for sure at least all of the no-no's in search engine optimization. If you are looking to purchase search optimized content for your own use make sure the content provider has an understanding of your goals, your purpose and how to implement a program.
