Business and Video-Conferencing

Every where you turn in business today, you find staff and executives running around from one little disaster to the next. The current economic climate does not contribute to the situation at all. After the trauma of the recent recession businesses are so careful when considering anything new and with a cost attached to it, that their instinctive reaction is --- "will this put me in the dog box again"

The fact of the matter though is that new technology can be of tremendous benefit to most companies if they take the time to consider the benefits of cost reduction and time savings. The latter being one of the most precious commodities nowadays.

Just imagine the following. A national company are days away from launching a new product already in all the stores. All the advertising costing huge amounts of money are going to start working in the next couple of days. The expected turnover in the first week are expected to run into millions. The planning of this launch has been going on for the last 18 months. Then ---- a phone call from the supplier to the company head office!

A small oversight at the factory will cause the product to malfunction. Due to the technical nature of the "fix" a quick power point demonstration is put together. An email goes out to all the branches for a video conference

tomorrow morning at 08h00 to present the solution to all concerned. The next morning in every branch all concerned logs into the virtual room and receives the visual and audio instructions on how to fix the problem. All 380 people concerned are updated in 30 minutes. Problem solved!

Can you imagine the cost and stress involved in getting all these people together in the same place to do it the old way?
