Business Networking - 5 Reasons the Timing Is Never Right

Expert Author J. H. Lee

Business networking is a crucial element in anyone's ultimate success. It is something that can't be ignored or denied but many times, this vital element is overlooked or neglected.

This is actually a shame, especially if a person intends to network but doesn't seem to ever have the time. For some, it seems that one thing gets piled on top of the other and time slips away gradually, along with many missed opportunities.

Legitimate reasons to miss out on business networking become intertwined with excuses. At the end of the day, an executive decision needs to be made. If you are waiting for time to do so, here are 5 reasons the timing is never right;

1. It's a great excuse to assist in procrastination.

Reason 1 is for those who consciously or unconsciously do not want to engage. We have established how important business networking is to career growth but because of reasons known and unknown, it's not everyone's favorite thing to do. Therefore, the "I don't have the time." excuse continues to conveniently hinder progress.

2. Priorities change with the seasons.

Every really busy person knows that important things change throughout the year or years. As we go through the different phases of our lives, the basic important things remain important but those things that lead us to our goals and objectives change. As these changes occur, adjustments can be made to facilitate anything we wish.

3. Father Time's rules will never change.

The timing is never right because the rules of time never change. We might run around doing things to be more efficient, saving 5 min. here-saving 1/2 an hour there, but while all that's happening, time passes regardless. So, when will the timing be right?

4. Blatant refusal to make time.

When a person wants to do something bad enough, time is never a real factor. It's a real factor when we acknowledge the reality of it but in relation to things that we are juggling in our lives, it's not.

Have you ever wanted something really bad and were able to get it by meeting a certain deadline? If so, how much of an obstruction was time then?

5. Time is real, Timing is an illusion.

As mentioned above, the rules of time will never change. We are slaves to Time's regulations. We must conform in order to achieve what we want or face the consequences.

Time, has no mercy but timing is under our control. I say it is an illusion because like many things, if you don't acknowledge it, it doesn't exist
