As World of Warcraft players approach level 60, they are ready to join the Burning Crusade and can pass through the Dark Portal and enter Outlands. Once part of the Burning Crusade, World of Warcraft players realize that the gold requirements for this new realm is more demanding that the early part of the game and they struggle to make enough gold to even pay their bar bill at the World's End Tavern. In this article I'll give you a few hints and tips to help you make gold in the Burning Crusade.
Outland is Expensive
Now, if you thought things were expensive in Azeroth, you'll find the gold requirements of Outland staggering. Everything is more expensive and players will be looking to upgrade their wow mount for an Outland flying mount, which is one of the big advantages of playing wow in the Burning Crusade.
Max Out Professions
The first thing you must do to begin making gold in the Burning Crusade is max out your professions before entering the Dark Portal. The professions are the power house of the gold economy, so to make gold quickly you'll need to hone your gathering skills in Outland and get them to at least Artisan Level if you are to gather the new materials found in the Burning Crusade. Supplying a steady flow of gathered Outland mats (hides, herbs and ore) to the Auction House is a sure fire way to make gold in the Burning Crusade.
Seek out Primals
The new high-end crafting material introduced in the Burning Crusade are Primals. These are made up of sub-elements called motes dropped by elemental creatures of Outland. Ten motes of a particular elemental can be turned into a Primal. The main primals are:
- Primal Air
- Primal Water
- Primal Fire
- Primal Earth
- Primal Life
- Primal Mana
- Primal Shadow
Farming motes to make primals can be a good way to make gold in the Burning Crusade. Any of the main elemental creatures found in outland will drop motes. Here are a few examples:
- Mote Air - Air Elementals in Nagrand
- Mote Water - Water Elementals in Nagrand
- Mote Fire - Fire Elementals in Northern Blade's Edge Mountains
- Mote Earth - Rumblers in Netherstorm, but also harvested by miners
- Mote Life - Bog Lords in Zangermarsh
- Mote of Mana - Mana Wraiths in Area 52
- Mote of Shadow - Voidspawn in Nagrand
In summary, make sure you have leveled at least one gathering profession to Artisan level before entering the Dark Portal to Outlands: Herbalism, Skinning or Mining. Seek out those elementals on your travels and farm them for motes. Trade the primals you produce for much gold in the auction house. This is the way to make gold in the Burning Crusade.
