Building Your List: Creating the Experience of You

Why do you want to build a list, database of prospects?

Because the people on your list will be the ones who are your leads, or prospective clients, and who you want to become your clients! Why will they become your clients? You will be building great relationships with them - sharing you and your expertise on a regular basis.

So if you don't have a database, a list, of your prospective and current clients, it will be very hard to create income.

So offer a Free Experience of your capabilities and skills:

This is fun and effective way of getting someone to sign up for your list. It is something of value you offer to your prospect for free in exchange for their contact information, usually their name and email address.

Your Free Experience of you, is a way for you to connect with those people who sign up for more information from you, to build a relationship and create sales and revenue from your lists.

Offering a Free Experience of your, and your business, is really one of the most important steps in building your business online and offline. And, it's also one of the first things you need to do to.

Even if you don't have a product, or a or a defined niche or specialty, you can start building your list. Then once you do have your first offering ready, you'll have a ready audience to which to market it to.

How do you create a Free Experience?

Creating your Free Experience may only take a few hours at the most, as it is just a sampling of you.

Consider your messaging and content:

  1. Ask yourself what 5 things do I want people to know about my topic? And add a paragraph to each point.
  2. You will want to help your audience see the pain and/or frustration they feel about the "gap" between where they are now and where they want to be.
  3. You are sharing that you have a skill, or some amazing knowledge and want to be able to make a difference in people's lives using those skills/gifts
  4. You will focus your questions and points on the area of expertise of your service.
  5. And you are giving a valuable gift for them to learn more

You could have a:

  • 5-part written e-course,
  • A checklist for them to do and follow up with lessons on each piece.
  • 10-page e-book.
  • A short audio - with the written content as an added bonus.
  • Or send a short lesson over a period of time - every couple of days via email.
  • I also send articles or blog posts that I have written to my prospects / clients that don't have email or that I may have met offline - I want to make sure they know and remember who I am.

The key with this is that it keeps your leads / subscribers engaged over time.
