Learning how to build muscle can be hard for some people. It's not your fault, most of the information out there is entirely bogus. So many so called "experts" disagree on the same thing that it's hard to know whose right and wrong.
So instead of focusing on the small things, we are going to focus on the basics that work. I would suggest staying away from supplements and companies that promote steroids, instead just stick with the basic muscle building strategies that you can find in this article.
1. Get a good diet
So many people overcomplicate this step. There are all sorts of formulas and things online for the amount of carbs, fats, and proteins to take. Let's clear all of this up for you.
If you want to lose weight, take in less calories then your body needs (just use a basic online calorie calculater). If you want to gain weight take in more calories. In order to build and maintain muscle take in 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass.
That's it! No complicated formulas, just count your calories every day, and take in enough protein, easy enough.
2. Lift Weights
Lifting weights is something that cannot be replaced. If you have no access to weights I would suggest bodyweight exercises. The key is to not just move weights around, make sure you feel the weight as you move it, flex your muscle, make sure you can feel the blood pump through it. Without this your lifting will not lead to muscle growth.
3. Consistency
Make sure that you never stop working out, so many people fail just because they stop working out and get lazy, if you want to see results, you must keep going.
