If you are like many people these days, you are probably looking for something to supplement or maybe even replace your current income. And, if you're like a lot of people in this boat, you may be considering the internet as a vehicle to solve your current financial problems. Just a word of Caution: Just because it's the internet does not mean there isn't work required. If you can learn to build your own websites you will be miles ahead of most who are under the impression that somehow there computer will be transformed into a ATM with a never ending supply of cash. Wake up!!!! But, I have good news! IT IS POSSIBLE TO MAKE A GOOD LIVING ONLINE!!!
Internet Marketing or "I.M." as it is called by many requires you to find, buy and learn to make, three things that are the main components and make up an online business. They are as follows:
Find: Find a market/product that is proven to be in demand and profitable
Buy: A Domain Name & Auto Responder
Learn To: Build Your Own Websites and Promote
Actually, finding a market/product does require some new skills. There are various types of research that must be done to find a profitable niche. This is critical and quite a large topic in itself.
Buy a domain name. About $10.00/year. Very easy to obtain.
By an autoresponder: About $20.00/month. This will enable you to keep in touch with and keep track of your customer base. Very easy to buy. Requires some training time to master all the features it offers. The top companies such as aWeber have a lot of educational tutorials about how to set up and use their product.
Build your own websites and promote: This will require the most work. You may be tempted to hire someone to do this but (unless you have a lot of money) learning how to this yourself will enable you to set up sites quickly and make changes on the fly to reach optimum performance. And, like all skills, it can be learned and it really isn't all that difficult. One of my personal (and FREE) online website building software is Kompozer. It's fairly easy and very straight forward. As far as promoting, this also is a vast topic in itself and will require the learning of some new skills as well.
There you have it! Find a niche, Buy a domain and autoresponder, and build your own websites and promote. These are the main components to an IM business. This very brief breakdown of a web business is meant to clarify what is required to succeed at internet marketing.
