Many people become frustrated with Internet Marketing, and rightfully so, Every clown and their monkey online promises the moon and the Sky and Fast Internet Riches and when they realize that they actually have to build a business they all quit.
It is interesting that the failure rate for online Entrepreneurs is the same rate as the brick-and-mortar business arena: 95% Fail.
Now; we all get bombarded right from the get go in the Internet Marketing world, "The money is in the list" "You gotta build a list" etc and we go yeah, easier said than done!
Well that is true but here is the thing, the absolute best practice you can have to build your list is to realize that the building of that list is a long-term endeavor.
I know, I know, it can be frustrating, trust me been there done that, and actually if you compare me with all these big time gurus you could say that I am still there, but my point is that once you understand that you are in it for the long haul than the frustration goes away....well at least a little.
The main thing you have to put into practice right away is that you have to provide value.
Of course that is a very generic thing to say, but the real question here is HOW do you provide value right?
The fastest and easiest way to do this is to become a sifter and filter of information. Think about it; with so many products coming up on the market, so many Gurus creating launches (there has been at least 10 big launches this year alone!) there is a huge demand for real people (not gurus) to simplify and convey things.
So the strategy here is to become a reporter. Is that easy? NOOOO! in fact you have to know your industry inside and out, know the lingo, know the players, network, know the strategies etc. It is a lot of work but hey the internet marketing niche is a very competitive one.
Now if you are not in the I.M. Niche than you will have an easier job. So if you have picked a niche and are not necessary an expert on that niche then the strategy for building a list remains the same, become the "connector" the link between the expert's information and the end user.
This is a model that has been proven over and over again and not just in the I.M. market but all over the world, and in just about any industry, think about it; every news casting network got to where they are because of this, they are just delivering the news!

Even right now; where are you reading this article from? whether you found it on someone else's blog, (in which case A big Thank You Hug From me to the blogger is in order) or in the actual Article Directory site, they both have become the link for you and me, in fact EzineArticles grew into a very profitable business using this model alone! So yeah it works like Ghost-busters, so when it comes to building a list, WHO YOU GONNA CALL!?...OK, OK, that was a little lame =)....
Moving on!...So, to sum it up in one sentence: in the beginning if you are not THE expert, be the expert's link.
Think about it this way, you may have the most badass TV money can buy but if you cannot plug it in, it's a useless piece of junk! So become the connector, and build your list this way. You'll learn the ins and outs of the game, brand yourself for long term business success and make money in the process, how sweet is that?
