If you tap the Store icon from the iBook menu, you'll end up immediately to the iBookstore. The interface looks pretty much like the iTunes one. But instead of music, videos and TV programs, you'll find books. The main page of the iBookstore contains new titles, new best sellers, popupar titles and a lot of things that the staff considers to be interesting. If you want to find some books regarding a certain subject, tap the Categories button and a list will pop out.
The book groups are sorted at the bottom of the screen:
- Featured. Here are displayed all the titles that are in vogue, books made into movies, recommended books from the Apple's staff, pre-ordered books, free books and even the books that Oprah likes. If you have an Apple account you can log in or out from the buttons of the bottom of every Store screen. You can redeem iTunes gift cards or get technical support if something is wrong with the iBookstore.
- NYtimes. is charting books since 1942. So, you can see a weekly ranking of the books and best sellers offered by New York Times. iBookstore is updating the new titles each week of every month in tandem with NYT
- Top charts. Here you can find a top of the list with the books that were bought through iPad and a list with the most popular free books.
- Purchased. If you don't remember what you've bought, tap here to see your previous list. You can re-download the book without paying again.
A search engine is also put at you disposal, accompanied by a list of suggestions to help you find the book. If you want more information about the book (reviews from other readers, ratings, descriptions) just tap the book cover. You can even download a free sample of the work. If you wish to share your opinion about a book, tap the "Write a Review" link.
