Bride Speeches - How to Deliver Memorable Bride Wedding Speeches

Expert Author Michelle O Smith

While it is true that you cannot get a more captive audience for a speech than at your own wedding, making sure that your wedding speech is memorable for all the right reasons is easier said than done and a little preparation is needed in order to give your perfect wedding speech.

Brides are not traditionally members of the wedding party that give speeches, which means that there are fewer rules to adhere to, but you don't want to say the same things as your bridesmaid or your groom, so it's a good idea to get a basic speech prepared and ensure that you don't double up on certain aspects.

It is becoming more commonplace for the bride to thank the caterers and staff while the groom will thank the church and clergy. Thanking parents is done by both parties. Depending on your personal relationship with the in-laws, you will choose the most suitable method of thanking them. If you don't know them very well, you may opt to thank them for raising a man you have come to love and appreciate, however, if you know them very well, you may want to thank them for taking you into their home and their lives.

In order to make your speech personal and memorable, you will want to include something about your relationship, perhaps the first time you met or something fun and memorable that your new husband does that endears him to you. Remember that ingesting a little humor into your speech will not go amiss, but also take into consideration who your audience is and don't reveal anything that could result in you turning into a blushing bride.

Although a good speech can be defined as a heartfelt, humorous expression of your love and should feel spontaneous, it's a good idea to practice your speech a few times to ensure that it flows well. Spontaneity in speech delivery is an art that can be practiced to perfection. Your bridesmaid will be a willing ear and a helping hand if it needs a little tweaking.
