Breakfast Recipes For Quinoa

Quinoa is probably the most versatile super food I can ever think of because it does not alter the taste of other ingredients. You can cook it and serve it any way you want and there are thousands of recipes for quinoa that you can find over the internet. People are kind enough to share their quinoa recipes to us. I like starting my day with a bowl of quinoa because I feel that I have more energy.

One of my favorite simple recipes for quinoa is the apple cinnamon breakfast quinoa. You will need 1 small apple, ½ tablespoon fresh lemon juice. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, ¼ cup water. ½ tablespoon honey and ¼ cup uncooked quinoa.

Core the apple and cut it into chunks (leave the skin on if you want). Place the chunks in a blender with the lemon juice, cinnamon, honey and water. Blend until smooth, add more honey if you want it sweeter. Put the apple mixture and quinoa into a small pan over medium heat and stir until it boils. Cover and lower the heat to a simmer. This will take about 15 minutes to cook. You know it's cooked when the quinoa absorbs the liquid and it will have the transparent visible little rings. Serve and enjoy.

Quinoa with Soy and Banana is also one of my favorite recipes for quinoa because it's quick, easy and it's really delicious. For this breakfast recipe you will need:

½ cup cooked quinoa
1 small banana
2 teaspoons peanut butter
1 tablespoon flax seeds
Few splashes of soy milk (you can use flavored soy milk if you want)

This is very easy and it won't take but 5 minutes of your time. Just mash the banana in a breakfast bowl and then mix the peanut butter. Add the flax seeds and cooked quinoa and mix them well together. Add the soy milk and voila you have a healthy meal for breakfast!
