If you have added affiliate marketing as one of your business revenue streams, you may want to enhance your process to include some branding by association strategies.

As an affiliate marketer, you select products to promote based on the opportunity to generate revenue. You also select products based on the reputation of the product developer or owner. Right?

Well, what if you use this process to also create credibility for your brand and reputation? What if you select products to promote with which you would like to be aligned?

Here are four simple strategies you can use to do just that:

• Include articles written by the product developer on your blog. These could be articles they provide for use by affiliates through their affiliate sites or articles they have written for and published in article directories. Either way, the article is published on your blog with the product developer as the author.
• Use affiliate articles in your newsletter and auto-responder email series. Your subscribers will appreciate you providing good content. They also will associate you with the authors of all of the articles in your newsletters and emails.
• Review and recommend affiliate products in articles you write for article directories, on your blog, and on third-party commercial websites such as amazon. Make sure that you have first hand experience with the product. And, to increase your credibility, mention the good and the not so good attributes of the product in the review.
• Mention affiliate products on social media and micro-blogging sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Your followers will make a link between you, the product and the product developer. Again, make sure that you know the quality of the product and the developer's reputation before recommending the product.

As with all of my recommended branding by association strategies, these strategies not only create credibility for your brand but they also promote the experts with which you wish to be associated. And, if done strategically, you will attract the attention of the expert with whom you wish to be associated. Last, by using your affiliate links, you are creating revenue opportunities for yourself and the product developer.
