From that point on those winners play each other bringing the field down to 16 teams, then down to 8, then down to 4, and then finally the national championship game between the 2 surviving teams. Last year we saw two number 1 seeds playing for the national championship last year. That is VERY unlikely and has not happened for a long time since last year.
