Arleen and her former husband, Jim Cavanaugh, started the commercial cleaning franchise Jani-King back in 1969, so when the couple divorced in the mid-90's, Ms. Cavanaugh took her extensive experience in the industry and started the Bonus Building Care franchise. Jim Cavanaugh currently maintains control of Jani-King while Arleen runs the day-to-day operations of her new company.

Bonus Building Care franchises serve commercial clients throughout the United States offering carpet steam cleaning, construction clean up, warehouse cleaning, floor stripping, and a number of other niche services. They do not have any international franchise units but are looking to expand internationally. By 2009, there were nearly 2,500 franchisees in the US.
