BofA Makes Home Loan Principal Reductions

For all those who think they are hopelessly drowning under the weight of their mortgages it is time to rejoice! Quite recently somehow fate shone on you and to make sure that you are still able to stand up on your own two feet the bank of America is offering you an opportunity to get a mortgage principal reduction.

The news is yet very fresh and the implementation has not yet run its due course but it will only be till around May of this year that you will have to wait for the opportunity for it to bear fruit. According to the details yet gleamed from the sources the BofA has recently announced its plans to prevent foreclosure.

Instead of foreclosing the homes of people the BofA said that they will implement home loan principal reductions program to provide a valuable opportunity to home owners with negative amortization or who owe more than 120% of what their home costs. According to an estimate almost 30% of the overall mortgages will be forgiven.

The plan intends on temporarily put on hold the amount excess of 100% of the home cost as an interest free principal forbearance for a period of five years. In the meantime an individual has only to keep paying their leftover mortgage and not to default anymore. If successful the principal forbearance put on hold will be completely forgiven after a period of five years.

According to banks estimates over 45000 Americans will be able to take advantage of the program and hopefully other lenders will also follow suit. The borrowers interested in the program will also have to be eligible for the president Obama mortgage loan modification program. Furthermore all those found eligible as per the initial qualification guidelines will soon be receiving notifications regarding this opportunity along with further guidelines.
