It's easy to lose body fat when you are just starting a diet and are many pounds overweight, but the closer you get to your desired weight, the harder it becomes to lose any more pounds. Males find it almost impossible to get rid of those last few pounds of obstinate fat around their waist. For females, on the other hand, that hard-to-lose fat clings to their buttocks, hips, and thighs. You probably already know that, so let's get past that to the good news that will tell you how to shed those last few pounds of tenacious fat.
The first thing you should know is that a calorie deficit by itself will not do away with that remaining stubborn body fat.
Now you can certainly shed fat and slim down throughout most of your weight-loss program by dieting and exercising to maintain a calorie deficit. But that won't be enough to remove those final pounds of stubborn body fat. That's the reason that people so often have no problem getting near their ideal weight, but then find it almost impossible to take off those last ten pounds. Different techniques are needed to dislodge that remaining clinging fat.
One technique that will help is to fast two days each week.
That's known as "intermittent fasting." It consists of fasting for eighteen to twenty-four hours, then eating a normal-sized meal. A good way to do this is to begin your fast after dinner one day and end it at dinner the next day. You won't be taking in any calories at all from one dinner to the next. After fasting for approximately eighteen hours, your body will produce HGH (human growth hormone), a natural substance produced by the pituitary glands that forces your body to burn fat for energy. Fasting twice a week will take off even that remaining stubborn body fat.
A second technique that will help is to do interval cardio first, then follow it with steady cardio.
The steady cardio is low intensity and does indeed burn fat for fuel. The problem is that it only uses the fatty acids that are available in the bloodstream. It will take fifteen to twenty minutes of steady cardio for fatty acids to be released. That means that no body fat will be burned until after that time, and the results aren't at the optimum even then. The results can be improved dramatically by first doing intensive interval cardio exercise for ten minutes, because this will cause a significant amount of fatty acids to be released into the bloodstream. Following this with twenty minutes of low-intensity cardio exercises will then burn the fatty acids that were released. This technique is a great way to maximize your workout time and achieve a significant body fat loss.
A third technique to get rid of body fat is to do all your workouts after a period of fasting.
Don't eat any food for four to five hours before your workout. That way you will be doing your training without much energy from food left in your system. Your body will be forced to use stored energy, and the results of your workouts will easily be doubled. So if stubborn body fat loss has become your goal in life, and you've tried every way you know to get rid of that unsightly excess, don't give up - these three techniques are the key to achieving victory at last.
