2. Retrieved by other websites
3. Published by newsreader software
In simple terms what this basically means is that information is spread around many on line websites. If they like what they are reading they will come back for more or even bookmark your blog as one of their favourites.
A great feature of RSS is that it makes it convenient for the reader who is interested in your blog. As RSS technology sends out your blog posts to other sites and newsreader software, your readers do not have to remind themselves of where to find your posts because it is sent to them automatically. Every time you post this will automatically be sent out.
RSS feeds are a great way of receiving updates of information that you are interested in receiving. This is a great time saver as you will not have to individually click on each of your favourite websites to find out if new information or stories have been posted. You can subscribe to an on line newsreader which will automatically download your chosen RSS feeds to your computer.
You can identify which sites and blogs have an RSS is by looking our for an orange colored square button. This button should either say RSS or XML. The number of sites and blogs that have RSS feeds is increasing including many of the big well known sites such as Yahoo.
