The Blackberry Storm2 has hit the markets. Customers who are familiar with the rather disappointing performance of the original Blackberry Storm are eager to find out what the Blackberry Storm2 has to offer. It's needless to say that this phone is a distinct improved version of its predecessor and is power packed with cool features and applications. It is perfect for those who need to stay connected while on the move.

Design- It looks quite similar to the first version although there are some subtle changes with a more streamlined design, rounded edges, chrome lining etc. The dimensions are 112.5 mm x 62 mm x 13.9 mm. It fits easily into the palm, purse or pocket.

Display- The 3.25 inch display has a resolution of 480 X 360 pixels and supports 65,000 colours. Images are vivid and really bright.

Keyboard- This is a main highlight of this phone. The touch screen keyboard on the display screen uses Sure Press technology to give you the feel of typing on a physical keyboard. There are four activators located on the edges which send electrical impulses when a key is pressed. The phone supports multi press, predictive text, auto correct etc which makes typing easy. Face detection technology blacks the display and locks the keyboard when the user is making a call.

Operating System- It uses the BlackBerry version 5 OS.

Memory - The Storm2 has an application memory of 256 MB and device memory of 2GB. If this is not enough, you can expand the memory to an amazing 16GB using microSD card.

Internet connectivity- It supports Quad-Band, Single-Band and Dual-Band networks. The phones 3G internet connectivity and new Wi-Fi feature ensures that you stay connected wherever you go.

Messaging- This feature is worth mentioning. The phone has features like threaded SMS, MMS, push e-mail etc. You can also mange several e-mail accounts at once and stay updated with latest mail. You can even sync this mobile to your company's BES to manage official e-mails. This Blackberry model is pre-loaded with BlackBerry Messenger and you can add more IMs like Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live etc.

Navigation- The Storm2 has GPS/A-GPS complete with BlackBerry Maps. It is easy to use and serves as a great navigation aid no matter where you are.

Media- If you love spending time listening to music, this handset is ideal for you. The music player of this handset supports files of MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA and WMA ProPlus formats. The video player supports files in the MPEG4 H.263, MPEG4 Part 2 Simple Profile, H.264 and WMV formats. You can also sync the phone to iTunes, Windows media player, stream music; download music from V Cast Music and so on.

Camera- It has a 3.2 mega pixel camera with features like flash, auto focus, geo tagging, 2X zoom etc. You can also record videos at 26 frames per second.

Other features - Bluetooth, USB, inertial scrolling, vibrating alerts, memo, task list, calendar, calculator and more.

The new Blackberry Storm 2 and newly introduced Blackberry Bold 9700 are two of many new additions to the manufacturers portfolio for 2009, further details can be found on our website - Phones Limited.
