Best Reaper Rush Build Order - How to Optimize This Starcraft 2 Strategy

The reaper rush build order that works the very best must be one that is totally optimized for speed and efficiency. You need to get exactly what is required for reapers as quickly as possible, then move your buildings into max production so you have reapers pumping out quickly and can easily take out an opponent's base.

I have been experimenting with different reaper rush build orders and have found one that works better than just about any other build order I have been able to find. The reason behind it is simple. It gets your build order into two barracks and a refinery as quickly as possible and lets you get your barracks into max production quickly and easily. This makes for a very powerful reaper rush build order that gets into the opponent's mineral line quickly and easily. Here is the build order you need to take for optimal reaper rush effectiveness:

9 Supply Depot
11 Refinery
12 Barracks
14 Barracks
17 Supply Depot and Tech Labs
18 Nitro Boosters and Begin Building Reapers
4-8 Reapers: First Attack

This reaper rush build order starts out with blocking the choke point as usual with a supply depot and a barracks, then immediately moves into the refinery, the two barracks and the subsequent supply depot needed to get a decent number of SCV's. Once you manage to get your first tech lab up, immediately research the reaper speed upgrade to improve your micro abilities.

When you attack, head for the mineral line first, then kite any units that come in to defend. This means rotating them around the base until they are dead and not allowing them to get in a shot. Keep yourself well insulated with reinforcements should your initial rush fail to take out your opponent's base. This is extremely important.

After the initial rush using the above reaper rush strategy, I recommend either going into an MMM build or continuing to mass reapers. If you can finish with just reapers, use this reaper rush build order with an additional barracks and rally your reapers to just outside your opponent's base. This Starcraft 2 macro strategy will give you a small army of reapers and keep your opponent overwhelmed by getting them quickly into their base. Keep this strategy going or transfer into MMM until your opponent is finished.
