Best Keyword Density

Expert Author Adam M P

There are many opinions about circling around on what is best density for the keyword you want to get ranked under. Some say it's 3-8%, some say 2-4% and so on I don't have any secret knowledge about it but I can tell you from my own experience that you have to have different density for different things and that 8% is way too much for any application. Especially for article marketing, just try to write something like this and try to read it. 8% is absolutely unbearable to read. That's your keyword every 12 words and given the fact that the keywords for article marketing are usually at least three words long that means 8% density of your keyword phrase will amount to around 25% of the words being constantly repeated.

I usually go for 2% as best keyword density and it works just fine in fact for EzineArticles I usually use 1.7% key word density. It's just that given the number of words in my articles and length of my keyword phrases that is how close I can get to the 2% line with out crossing it. This has so far allowed me to get my articles to at least third place on the first page of Google under particular keyword phrase and my web site on the first page even with one or two articles. Then there is another thing when you do article marketing you want people to click your links at the bottom. With 8% or even 5% density they will stop reading after the first paragraph no matter how interested they were in the topic when they first clicked on your article.

In my opinion best key word density is around 2%, you can try to make it a bit higher than this on your web site or blog particularly when you are listing things and when you use it a lot in titles and subtitles of paragraphs and pages then you can aim for 4%. More than that will not help you and it's just my personal impression but I think search engines have recently learned that too.
