Many people end up throwing away clothing once they end up with ink stain on them. Many do not know that this is unnecessary. With just a little work, you can have your clothing looking like new again. There are many things that you can use to remove ink and there are many ink stain removal tools that you can buy. It can be confusing figuring out what works and what doesn't work, though.

The best thing that you can do is treat it right away. You need to keep the stain moist and do not allow it to dry. Once it dries, it is very difficult to get out. If you can keep it wet, then you can basically just wash it out with warm water and mild soap. If the fabric says it is alright, you should wash it then in hot water.

Many people swear by hairspray. You just spray both sides of the ink stain and then rinse in a hot washing machine. This does not always work, though. It works best when you spray some hairspray on it right away. If you wait too long, the hairspray will have little or no effect on the fabric at all.

It can also work well with rubbing alcohol. Just put the fabric on a white towel and dab rubbing alcohol on it until you have taken the stain out. The stain will end up on the towel beneath it hopefully. You should then wash it in warm water. Hot water is best if the fabric can handle it.

The extreme way to get an ink stain out when just nothing else will work is acetone. You need to first try it in an inconspicuous spot before you use it to take out the stain. You never know how acetone will affect the fabric. Just dab a little acetone on the stain until it comes out. Make sure you put in onto a white towel first. The color will transfer to the towel. You can then wash the material in hot water. This should work if all of the above fails.

A lot of research has been done about ink stain removal so that you don't have to make an effort. Check out some more stain removal tips for all that quick fix you have been waiting for.
