We are certainly in an interesting time when it comes to trading forex.  We've got a lot of traders spending more money than they can afford on what they consider to be the "best" forex trading software.  They believe that all that is necessary to making money is using this so called "state of the art" trading software.

But believe it or not, the keys to success aren't based on the tools or the software you use.  There is actually no correlation between the level of success that traders have with the software they use.  Basically, you've got people who are making money with free software like Metatrader, and you've got traders who are losing money on their thousand dollar a month software that they hold so dear.

Success relies solely on how good the traders can actually analyze the market.  All of the indicators, bells and whistles have nothing to do with "analysis".  Think about it like this.  What if suddenly one day, all of the expensive, "state of the art" trading software just went away.  I know that this is a big hypothetical, but just humor me.  How would you react knowing that you only had "bare bone" charting platforms to use?  To some, they would absolutely freak out.  To others, they could care less.

Because a lot of the successful traders know that trading isn't meant to be so complicated.  It's not meant to be traded with gimmicks.  A simple bar chart can give you more information than a chart littered with lagging indicators.

I suggest you learn the basic concepts of price action.  Once you do, you'll wonder why you ever bothered putting a single indicator on your charts.
