The ideas of starting your own herb garden has taken root in your mind, but the reality still seems uncertain because you might feel that there are too many uncertainties you would have to deal with;doubts about whether you could succeed, could choose the right soil, know how much to water, choose the right plants etcetera etcetera etcetera! Well, don't let it get too complicated for you. There is an answer out there which will make it a win-win for you and remove all the indecision and even stress: buy a good herb garden kit.

A good kit will answer many of those questions for you, primarily about what soil to use and what plants to start with.

There are dozens and dozens of different herb garden kits available. You could equate it in some ways with buying a car. What kind are you looking for and for what end; driving fun (sports car), utility (SUV or station wagon), general family use (sedan), etc.? You need to decide what it is you want out of an herb garden before proceeding. They come full equipped with seeds, planting media and instructions so you can get started almost immediately.

Some come with domes, glass or plastic, which fit over the top to provide a more consistent and properly humid atmosphere to strengthen the nascent root systems. Some will include recipe booklets and information of how to harvest and store them herbs. Just be sure before you start that you at least have some idea of what you want to get out of your herb garden so that you choose your kit appropriately. All kits will include the seeds and the soil mix (or pellet mix) to get you started.

Having your own little herb garden, even if it's just a starter garden and you plan to move it outdoors when the time is right, will be a tremendous source of convenience and pleasure. Fresh herbs, picked whenever wanted, will be a tremendous benefit, and their wonderful taste may enhance your culinary reputation as well. You will also enjoy the visual appeal of green Mother Nature growing in your living space.

All the materials and the instructions you need to maintain the water/ temperature/humidity condition best suited for your little garden will be provided, and doing what needs to be done will get increasingly each day. As we do, we learn and experience is the best teacher. The responsive herb garden will quickly help you become a masterful horticulturalist. The herb garden kit gives you a tremendous advantage on several levels. The cost, both in time and money (is there a differences) is very low, and you will be spared the anxiety of not having the information you will need when you need it.

You will likely find that once you get started growing your herb garden kit, your interest will grow right along with it and you might likely get hooked. You probably won't get to the point where you are buying a John Deere and tilling the back 40, but you may very well become very interested in horticulture and therefore increase your activities in that area.

Life is all about the journey, and growing herbs is one filled with more adventure of discovery than you probably expect. Go joyfully, and may you have many exciting journeys to come!
