If you listen to the old masters, Buddha, or Jesus Christ, there are not many beliefs you need to hold on to. We are all one and we are all connected to the One. A Course in Miracles says it this way:

In the realm of knowledge no thoughts exist apart from God, because God and His Creation share one Will...What perception sees and hears appears to be real because it permits into awareness only what conforms to the wishes of the perceiver. This leads to a world of illusions, a world which needs constant defence precisely because it is not real.

You see, this leads to our dilemma. We already have access to the One and to that knowledge, but we also have this perception which sees and hears whatever conforms to our wishes and belief. We live in a world of illusions.

Choose your Illusions, But Know They're Illusions

Bill Harris will tell you that the hard thing about being human is that everything is temporary, changing and will eventually die. This is the world of perception. A Course in Miracles speaks of this as being caught in a dream.

A Course in Miracles will contradict that and tell you that

Nothing real can be threatened.

Nothing unreal exists.

Herein lies the peace of God.

In the real world of the One, Source, Divinity, Creator or God there is no time. Everything is energy or spirit and all-ways. There is no limiting space. Everything is spirit or energy and exists every where concurrently. Love is all there is.

Words are part of the world of dreams, or the world of perception, but if you meditate on your breath and keep it coming in and going out without a stopping point or any break for about ten minutes, you will probably be able to discern your energy in the area of your heart. This is different from your heart's beat. This will be a pulsing.

This is energy, not physical. This is the energy of your self. This is real. Now you are "seeing" without using your eyes. We cannot understand this energy, but we can understand our intuition, which is called by A Course in Miracles, the Holy Ghost. This is always clear. It "speaks" without explanation or historical argument. "Stop now." "Turn here." "Go there."

When you listen without allowing arguments from the world of perception, your Ego, the One can make your way easy.
