Bed bugs are pests. It feeds on the blood of humans and other warm blooded animals. You can usually find them in mattresses, sofas, pillows, luggage and others. They usually feed at night. But they can feed any other time of the day when they get a chance to. People who have been bitten itch intensely. The reaction is different for different people. However, the bites look like mosquito bites but they last longer. So when people say, "Don't let the bed bugs bite", they mean it. We used to think that it was just a myth, a bedtime rhyme. But there is really some truth to it. So before they get to you, you should get them first. It is possible to defeat it especially if you know how to. Of course, you have to be sure that it is what you have because it could also be mosquitoes or fleas.

For bed bug treatment in the home, you can use low order sprays, dusts and aerosol insecticides that are used to kill them. Spray it to all the areas of the home where you think they hide, live and thrive. However, mattresses that have them should be discarded and thrown away.

There is actually no recommended bed bug treatment for the bites. All you can do is to relieve the symptoms. If the itching becomes worse, you can use steroid creams, topical creams or oral antihistamines for relief. Avoid scratching so as to prevent infections. Heavily scratched infections may need antibiotics.
