Thousands of people are being employed every year to test computer games. Software engineers can't possibly notice every single glitch, so the companies need to make sure that the game is working properly. That's why they hire people like you and me to find bugs in the games, before they are released.

If you are interested in applying for such a job, there are a few things you need to know:

• Due to child labor laws, you need to be at least 18 years old to be hired.
• Don't believe all these wild claims about being able to make $200/hour. Most beginner testers earn about $10-$15 per hour, but when you gain more experience and become really good at what you do, you might be able to make up to $80 an hour.
• If you have no previous experience, it would be almost impossible to be hired by a big company such as Blizzard. What you need to do is to start with smaller companies and work your way to the top.
• This is a real job. There will be a deadline and you might have to test the entire games in a matter of weeks or even days. Of course the fact that you will be able to work from home and set up your own schedule, make this occupation better than most other jobs out there.
• Most companies don't provide you with the required devices, so you must already have a computer and of course an internet connection.
• You have to really love gaming. Although it sounds very easy to get paid for playing a new game, it can become very boring if you don't have sincere passion for gaming.
