Before, you even consider it, you should know that it's not always as glamorous as it sounds. The hours can be long and it can become boring playing the same level on a game over and over just to find a fault. However, let's face facts getting a chance to become a video game tester has got to better than most jobs out there:-

1) You get the chance to play video games all day. So you no longer have to worry about your family or friends giving you a hard time for spending hours a day gaming...it's your job!

2) That's right, it's a job and like all jobs you can look forward to getting paid. Once you have become a video game tester, you can expect to be paid anywhere from $10-$120 per hour depending on how much effort you wish to put in.

3) So you get paid to play games, but what sort of games? How about having the chance to play video games that have not even been released yet. You get to test, tweak and provide feedback on numerous video games that the general public has never laid eyes on!

4) Once you have finished playing and testing, you get to keep the games. So you will have a shelf full of unreleased games that no-one else has even seen yet. Not only that, many companies will also provide you with cheat codes, different level secrets and many other little "tips" that are only available to video game testers.

5) When you become a video game tester, you also have the experience of liaising and working with other departments within game design companies. Your input will be reviewed by the marketing and manufacturing departments, as well as customer support.
