"Become a Better You" is a book written by Joel Osteen. Joel is the Pastor for the largest church in America. His church is located in Houston, Texas. The Lakewood Church has approximately forty-five thousand adults in attendance each week. He also has weekly television broadcasts and his books are among the New York Times bestselling books.

This book gives you guidance to learn how to enjoy the joys and blessings that God intended for all of us. His words are easy to understand and give you perception to various passages in the Bible as he references them while giving an explanation of their meaning. My own book has highlighted key words and phrases that were eye-openers to me.

Right from the beginning I found his words brought great inspiration to me. I felt uplifted as I turned each page and read of various circumstances and events within his life or others he wrote of. I felt the healing presence of God as my eyes were fascinated by the messages that were clearly defined.

I have learned first of all that you must forgive yourself and others for past mistakes. We must not harbor any grudge against those that have offended us. Instead we must pray for their salvation and in doing so we are released from the hurt that we felt. Revenge is not the answer to settle a dispute. The answer is to forgive and forget and try to resolve the issue to the best of your ability. God will see your efforts and you will feel so much better about yourself. After this is done, a new beginning is established and the new foundation will bear much fruit.

We must live with joy in our hearts and wear a smile on our face. A smile is contagious and might help someone that you see and change their whole outlook for that day. There will always be situations that we encounter that will allow our faith to grow, but this is necessary to strengthen our faith. We must live in anticipation of our issues in life being solved. We are to act as if God is already making arrangements to allow this dream of ours to materialize. We must realize it is his timetable, not ours that matters.

We must live to encourage others when we feel they are in need. Do build someone up that is trying to establish a new project or creative endeavor. You will help their self esteem and this will allow them to proceed with confidence. This must be done with your whole heart, not expecting something in return. This is a seed you are sowing. The more seeds you sow, the better your harvest in life will be.

Try not to dwell on your sicknesses in life. Instead awake and write down that you will be healed in the name of Jesus. If you focus on anticipating healing power, your mind will begin to change how you feel, and the power of God will heal whatever you may have. Mind power is vital in achieving all that we are able to within our lives.

Become an optimist as we must think positively in all aspects of our lives. Positive thoughts and energy will bring you positive results. This is not always easy to do. In order to achieve the positive result you might have to look at a situation at a different angle. It is important to remember if God closes one door in your life, he is going to open another that will have better things for you. You must learn to trust in his guidance.

This book was enlightenment in my life's journey. I found that the messages within were vital for me to improve the quality of my life. This is a spiritual passage that can only bring benefits to anyone that chooses to read it.
