Is going green really that big of a deal? I think so. I don't think you will notice too many changes right away, but our children definitely will. It makes the air we breathe healthier, and the food we eat healthier. I don't know about you, but I want to live as long as I can and see and do as much as I can! What I want even more than that is to see my children live a longer and healthier life! I don't know everything there is to know about going green, but I'll let you in on what I do know!
Recycling helps the atmosphere for sure! When being manufactured, goods from other recycled goods that you have thrown away in the recycling bin require less energy than making goods from new materials that have not been used before, thus when energy demand goes down, less fossil fuels are burned and less carbon dioxide is put out into our air!
If you are looking for a new car, consider buying a hybrid car. A hybrid car is any vehicle that combines two or more sources of power that can directly or indirectly provide propulsion power is a hybrid. A moped is a type of hybrid. Most of the locomotives pulling trains are diesel electric hybrids.
Even the little things you can do will help out, because if everyone does something little, it becomes a big help! Some things you can do are car pooling with friends, maybe on a night out or even using public transportation whenever possible, or carpooling with a co-worker that lives closer to you on the way to work. Also, no littering! Don't be lazy people! Also, try buying in bulk to cut down on the costs of packaging. Also, don't trash or flush your medications! They are man-made chemicals, and keeping them out of water streams is a good way of going green! Just call a local household hazard waste program in your area! Give the medication to them! Update your lighting, make it a habit to buy energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs. They use way less power than regular bulbs. Buy large, live houseplants, they will help keep your indoor air fresher, plus they are beautiful! I have about five in my whole house, I love plants!
There are so many ways for anyone to help out the environment by doing big or small things! If everybody does their part, the world will be a better, cleaner, more beautiful, and safer place! These sites may also have some great information!
