Bathroom Vanity Counter - Tops Add Elegance to Your Bathroom

Have you ever thought about the importance of a bathroom vanity counter-top? These counter-tops are perhaps the most important facet of your vanity, but they always seem to be overlooked. They facilitate a large number of common, daily hygienic chores. They open up a lot of storage space and surface area for your toiletries and hygienic products. Basically, they make your life a little bit easier, and your bathroom trips a little more convenient. But they also serve an aesthetic function, enhancing the visual appeal of your bathroom and improving its beauty. Wood, marble, and Corian polymer vanity counter-tops are great ways to improve both the form and function of your bathroom.

Wood counter-tops and plastic laminates in a wood design give your bathroom a definite charm and rustic flavor that is sure to impress. Wood has the added benefit of being a highly affordable counter-top material that won't hurt your savings. Unfortunately, a wood counter-top is very susceptible to normal water damage like warping and decay. For this reason, if you really want to go with a wood counter-top, you should have it thoroughly sealed in a laminate sheath to keep both direct and ambient moisture out. These plastic laminates are available in a significantly wide variety of diverse styles, designs, colors, themes, and luster and glosses. Plastic laminated bath vanity counter-tops are generally equipped with a traditional recessed self rimming sink; sometimes, they may accommodate more luxurious and less common vessel sinks. These particular counter-tops are particularly susceptible to heat damage and abrasions, on account of the plastic laminate. Avoid putting hot things on the counter-top, and clean it with non-abrasive, non-scouring cloths or pads and diluted cleaning solutions. With proper care, a good laminated vanity counter-top will last you a lifetime.

Marble double bathroom vanity counter-tops tend to cost a good amount more than wood or plastic laminate counter-tops, but marble is a much stronger and more durable material than either and marble will give your bathroom an elegant, refined atmosphere that will instantly enhance the existing sophistication of the room itself. Marble, granite, and onyx are all very stain-resistant materials when they are cultured. They are strong against the elements, such as water and sun damage, and they are rugged and tough to harm. They are also easy to repair and replace, despite their weight. If you sand and polish (or wax) the surface of your marble counter-top once in a while, say annually, you will certainly keep your counter-top looking beautiful and good as new. Cracking is a very common concern among marble vanity counter-top owners, but this concern is baseless if you buy cultured stone or marble; cultured materials are definitely worth the slightly more expensive cost.

Corian is an acrylic polymer blended with natural materials that was developed by the DuPont corporation, and it is probably the most expensive (but also highest quality) counter-top material. Additionally, it is by far the strongest, most enduring material. It is non porous, so it is totally water resistant, and by extension, mildew and mold resistant; it is incredibly hard to stain, too. Corian polymer comes in a variety of stylish finishes, such as semi-gloss, matte, or a glistening gloss surface. Corian counter-tops are easily cleaned with a normal abrasive cleanser and a normal cleaning pad; no special solutions are necessary. Simply maintaining your Corian polymer counter-top, by cleaning it regularly and keeping hot items away from it, will ensure that your counter-top lasts you years and years of enjoyment.
