The Bakugan Starter Pack red set is certainly appealing to many young children. In fact, it's slated by many retail stores to be one of the top sellers for the 2008 Christmas season. The toy doesn't carry a big price tag, but is it really worth the money?

The first thing that should be mentioned is that the Bakugan pack is actually on the lower end of the money scale for holiday toys. The top toys lists contain items that range in price from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars! This set sits solidly at the $15 price point.

Of course, many toys that are sold for such a small amount end up being pure junk, and are quickly tossed aside by uninterested children. That is certainly a concern for you if you are counting your pennies like many other families in this year's economy. The good news is that you will find some solid value in the red Bakugan Starter Pack.

The red pack contains three Warriors. Now, when you get this color you are guaranteed that all three warriors will be red in color. You are NOT guaranteed which specific warriors you will get. That can actually make it fun to try and collect them all. That will make it easy for you to come up with gifts for birthday and other special celebrations too!

There are many different warriors, including; Juggernoids, Fear Rippers, and Robatallians. These match up to the Bakugan anime show, so your kids will be well versed on which ones they hope to get.

In addition to the warriors, you'll also find metal gate cards. This is actually where all the magic happens! The warrior pieces are formed as marbles at first. When you roll them on the gate cards they pop open to reveal what's inside. This adds an extra element of fun to the gameplay.

The gameplay itself is a lot of fun. Children will use their imagination and a little bit of luck. You may need to go over the rules with very young children, but the game is simple enough that they should catch on quickly.

All in all, the red Bakugan Starter Pack is well worth the money for the Christmas season. This makes a great stocking stuffer or general present, and it even comes in many other colors.
