Baked BBQ Chicken
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Normally baked BBQ chicken is done using only using the oven, which is nice for those days you don't feel like going out and having a BBQ. I personally like using the oven and the barbecue when preparing baked BBQ chicken.

When preparing only use chicken pieces and not the whole chickens. Use simple ingredients for seasoning such as salt, pepper and garlic powder for example.

Using on the Oven Cooking Method

To start pre-heat the oven to 175 degrees C, and place the chicken pieces in a shallow baking tray. Sprinkle over your favourite seasoning and place in the oven and bake for an hour at 175 degrees C.

Then remove the tray from the oven and drain out the excess built up fat that formed at the bottom of the tray. Pour over your favourite barbecue sauce and bake in the oven for a further 30 minutes at 175 degrees C.

Using Grill - Baked Barbecue Chicken

After you have baked the chicken pieces for an hour at 175 degrees, pour over your favourite BBQ sauce as you would if you were using only the oven method.

Pre- heat the grill to a medium heat and then place the chicken pieces on. Grill the pieces for 5 - 10 minutes until the outer layer becomes nice and crispy.

This is a great and easy way to prepare your chicken this way. Grilling the chicken at the end gives it that a smoky taste. Baking the chicken before hand ensures that it gets properly cooked.

I personally prefer the method using the BBQ at the end to finish the grilling process. Using purely the oven doesn't give off that barbecue texture and taste.

Baked Barbeque Chicken!

I'm 24, originally from Johannesburg South Africa but recently moved to Marbella Spain. My hobbies include tennis, gyming and barbecuing.

I have a barbecue and recipe website. I love the outdoors and spend my free time on the beach.
