Doesn't everyone love horses. I like them even if they do lose races that I have bet on. They seem to have a majesty about them. Thinking of majesty, I remember a quote from the late Queen mother who said, "That's racing, " when her horse who had the race won, suddenly stopped just before the winning post. But I'm referring to the horses who are taken down a busy road, usually with an inexperienced young rider.
Fair enough they are entitled to do this and most people have great respect for them. Apart from liking them their owners and riders are a different issue. Where I live they take a route that's notorious for accidents with cars and vans ploughing into railings and each other. I wish this didn't happen. But would you not think it would be far safer for the horses owners to work out a less hazardous route.
We've lots of fields that could be used for the purpose of exercising their horses. And the main pet peave I wanted to remark on is; what the horses leave behind, Big Blobs of manure. I have a dog and I always clear up after her. And it is an of fence for dogs to foul the pavements. A horse this week has manured itself at a bus stop on the pavement, it's been there for three days rotting and smelling. This has to be a health hazard. Please horse owners think about what you are doing and clear up the mess.
