Backlinks For Blogging - Video Distribution

Video distribution has become a powerful way to market yourself online. You can create one video and disseminate it across a wide array of video sharing sites. This method is usually used solely for generating traffic though since most video upload sites like YouTube do not give you followed backlinks with your videos.

This is the case for most video sharing sites, but there are a few more obscure sites out there that do allow for you to get a followed backlink with each of your video uploads. Whether you are trying to generate traffic or want to link build with videos, here are some quick steps to creating simple videos and uploading them around the web. This article will have a focus on uploading to sites that give backlinks, but the concept can be used for any kind of video distribution.

You don't have to have fancy, viral-like videos if you're only uploading for backlinks. Your goal is to get the link. Videos are just your platform in this case. If you want traffic though that's a whole other issue.

1. First convert your articles into audio.
   • Ivona text-to-speech Convert your text to speech and download.
     • This is the easiest way I've found to convert your text articles into speech. The speech from Ivona sounds really good, in my opinion, and I use it every time.
     • Follow the Ivona tutorial (see links below) to complete this step. It usually only takes me about a minute to convert my articles into speech and download the MP3 file.
2. Create a video
   • There are countless ways to make videos, with all the various software packs out there, but any video editing software will do in this case. Remember, we are not trying to create a work of art. Our main goal is to upload a video and gain a backlink from doing so.
   • I personally use Windows Movie Maker for the majority of my videos. It's simple and quick.
   • For a basic video, combine pictures along with your audio file to create a slideshow-type video.
   • You can be as creative with this part as you want. Creativity is important for videos with the intent to build traffic, but for backlinks you can be lazy.:)
   • Here's an example of a video I made for a client that dealt with pest control products. As you can see the video is very simple but it provides what's necessary.
3. Upload your videos

• You can start by seeing what sites are available for video backlinking. For your reference you can read 12 "Do-follow" Video Sharing Sites, but I've not had success with most of these sites. A few of them have removed my videos because they were marketing oriented, which is against their uploading policies. However, some of those sites have proven to work for backlinks.

• Ovi.com
• Videobomb.com (Requires embed code. So first you need to upload your video to another site like Viddler or YouTube.)

• Ning Networks - Search ning.com for related ning networks to your niche. Post your video on those networks for do-followed links.
