When you want to perform a background check on someone you will want to know what kind of information is accessible to you. There are a lot of records that are public information, these are the records that you will be able to obtain access to. You won't be able to gain access to such records as health records or military records because these are not public records. Here is an overview of the types of records that you will be able to gain access to during a background check:

Driving Record: You will also be able to find out about their driving record. This can be important information if you are hiring them to do any type of job that will require them to drive.

Residence History: You will be able to verify the addresses where the person has lived. This can be helpful in cross checking the truthfulness of their references.

Civil Lawsuits: You will be able to obtain court records on any civil lawsuits that they have been involved in. This can be helpful if you are checking on a perspective tenant, you will want to make sure no other land lords have had problems with them which resulted in a lawsuit.
