Do you know that a writer's first business is to choose and make use of words which arouses interest to readers and words that will simply not? If you're able to master this simple principle, you're bound to get loads of traffic to your site and more profits to come by. A word is clear when its corresponding meaning is easily understood. Therefore, the words that must be used in writing an article for the web must vividly express what the writer intends to say; and in return, they must be clearly understood by the reader. And unless, you accomplish the aforesaid functions, you will not succeed of your chief purpose, and that is to pass on and communicate to the mind of the readers your own ideas.
The following are generally accepted principles in article writing. Keep in mind, good composition calls for effective and persuading written pieces.
1. Unity - Oneness in writing or the ability of a writer to come up with words that expresses a complete thought is what unity in words and thoughts is all about. A sentence is a unit of thought and has subject and verb articulated from the context. On the other hand, phrases or subordinate clauses shouldn't be used inaccurately and carelessly in a sentence. Neither should thoughts, incomplete ideas, and those that are not logically connected to the subject be put in the same sentence.
2. Coherence - Consistency or the ability of words to stick together as one complete thought is what coherence in writing articles is all about. It is a matter of stating and arranging parts of a piece in such a way that the relationship between them is comprehensible and clearly expressed.
3. Emphasis - Do you want to know where the most emphatic positions are found? At the beginning and end of a written piece. Therefore, something of genuine interest to your readers should be underscored or accentuated either at the beginning or end of your every article.
