There are various different ways in order to attract visitors to your website, but my favourite method would have to be the writing of articles and posting them to EzineArticles. It may take you some extra effort in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, you will see more prospects finding your website. In order to optimise your article for indexing by search engines, there are a number of guidelines you need to adhere to. After all, you want your marketing campaign to be successful.
Title
The title of your article should be short and described in such a way that it delivers on the body of your content. I recommend using one keyword or keyword phrase in the title of your article and repeat that a few times in your article. Donīt overdo it because your article may get rejected or search engines identify your article as spam. Always read the Terms Of Use and Guidelines of the website you are submitting your article to!
Content
The content of your article should be of good quality, unique, informative, interesting and grammatically correct. Be aware of spelling mistakes and run a spell checker over your article prior to submission. If you are stating facts or/and figures, use bullet points or numbers and make sure what your are communicating is true and not misleading. Donīt deviate from the matter of your article and stick to the point. Keep the article short (400-500 words). You want your reader to be intrigued by the article so they will want to know more.
If you follow these few rules, you will get the most out of your article.
Keywords
In order to get the most out of your marketing campaign efforts you will want to use keywords. Do some research on the keywords that you choose. I personally use WordTracker for this. You want to avoid using keywords that many other article writers are using. If the competition is too high, your article will not be ranked high enough in the search engines, thus people will not find it. Try to find one keyword (or keyword phrase) for your article and use that a few times in your article body. (see also paragraph 'Title' in this article).
Keyword density
Keyword density is the measurement in percentage, the number of times a keyword or phrase appears compared to the total number of words in a page. In the context of search engine optimisation keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase. (Source: Wikipedia)
Once you have mastered this, your article will be ranked very high in search engines.
What I described above are in my personal opinion the 4 most important guidelines you need to adhere to. There are certainly more methods you can use to write articles that are properly optimised. Studying the subject of Article Marketing and optimisation is certainly worth it. You will notice the effects soon enough! More targeted traffic is finding your website and your sales will increase.
