Article Marketing - Some DOs and DON'Ts

You've written an article. Now, let's make money.

DOs

1. Make sure it is perfectly spell-checked and grammar-checked. There is no bigger turn-off than such sloppy errors. Get a friend to help you if this is not your strong suit.

2. The title is the ad for the abstract. Write an exciting title.

3. The abstract is an ad for the article. The abstract must hold out some exciting promise so that the potential reader actually reads the article.

4. Do link your article submissions automatically to your Twitter account and your Facebook account. This will alert your Twitter Followers and your Facebook Friends or Fans that you have just posted an article. You will get immediate readership.

5. Do audio-record your article, by simply reading it into a mic, creating a podcast for posting.

6. Do combine the audio with a Power Point of selected key points from your article and you've got a video for posting.

DON'Ts

1. Do not write long articles. 250 words is the minimum. Stay under about 350 words. If your reader gets turned off during the read of your article, then you have lost a potential sale.

2. Do not use those phoney article-multiplier services. They ask you to write alternate paragraphs for each of your paragraphs. Then the computer randomly takes this version of paragraph 1 with that version of paragraph 2 etc. In this way, it appears that you've written dozens of articles when you've just written one. It is an absurd way to create content and it is definitely not classy.
