I tried to resist using article marketing for a long time. That is, until I finally got sick of paying for traffic. Everyone was telling me to try it because of the huge amount of free traffic it can generate. I didn't believe them!

When the time finally came that I could no longer afford to support my  'PPC Advertising Habit', I decided to give article marketing a try. To say I used to be a 'PPC Junkie' would be an understatement, I was spending an average of $500 per month, yes, but some months I spent in excess of $5,000. I guess I had more money than sense.

The best way to start writing articles, I found, was to research the top keywords that are related to your industry, the easiest (free) way to find these keywords is to go take a look at all the free webmaster tools that Google has to offer. Most of these tools make a lot of the paid applications look pretty sick.

Once you have found about twenty or so top keywords, you need to write an article that will use each keyword as the focus point of each article, such as this one I am using, article marketing. The articles can be relatively short, a few paragraphs, you will find that various article publishing sites will have a certain minimum article size they will accept.

Once you have completed your articles, the next step is to get them published, first on your own blog, and next on an article marketing site. This site you are on now is an excellent place to start.You will certainly be amazed at how much traffic you can generate by using this method, I was, and I haven't paid for advertising since!
