If you suspect you are suffering from male genital herpes, the first thing you should do would be to consult your doctor just to make sure you are effectively suffering from male genital herpes and not a rash. In the case you are effectively suffering from male genital herpes then you should at all cost avoid any sexual relations until you actually get rid of it.

You probably already know that male genital herpes is transmitted sexually. Whether its anal, oral or vaginal sex the chances to infect your partner are huge. So avoiding sex during this period is a must.

Genital herpes normally appears within the first few weeks after the infection. If you have multiple sex partners there is a higher chance to get infected as you have more chance to be in contact with someone who has the Herpes Simplex Virus.

Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) is another name for male genital herpes. There is two differents kind of herpes virus:

- Type 1 HSV: This infection normally occurs around and in the mouth and nose area.

- Type 2 HSV: Occurs around the genital area.

However due to today’s sexual practices, more and more people are indulging in oral and anal sex. As a consequence it’s not uncommon to find the two types of HSV in both areas.

Here are some of the male genital herpes symptoms:

- sores and blisters on the genital area

- Pain when urinating (when the urine passes over the sores)

Some people reports other symptoms like:

- fever

- flu like feeling

- burning pain

- muscle aches

- back pain

- headaches

- Swollen glands

- Pressure in the abdomen

- Discharge from the penis.

Unfortunately as of today there is no cure as such for genital herpes infection. Of course there are some medication to help you deal with the various issues and symptoms of male genital herpes. Usually painkillers are more than often the solution to help you deal with the symptoms.

In some cases some people will also suffer from recurrent male genital warts symptoms. This often happens if your body did not have the chance to fight completely the herpes virus from your body. The other factor that can contribute to getting recurrent male genital herpes would be to ignore the most important rule: Avoid any sexual relations.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of this disease some people don’t even know they are suffering from male genital herpes. Sometimes the symptoms are not strong enough so they will most likely mistake their symptoms for that of rash and not male genital herpes.
