There are seven major energy centers in the human body. These seven centers are call chakras. The word chakra is derived from the Sanskrit language and means wheel, circle, or disk. The chakras can be thought of as the metaphysical energy information centers of the human body. These energy information centers branch out from the spinal column and rotate or spin like a tornado. The alignment of the chakras is in an ascending pattern from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each chakra can be linked to a specific endocrine function.
Beginning with the first (base) chakra, the link is to the adrenal glands where the fight or flight response is housed. It is the chakra housing survival and instinctual information. It is the chakra that grounds us to mother earth. This chakra is located between the anus and the genitals.
The second (sacral) chakra is linked to the testicles or ovaries and is related to sexuality, lower emotions, and creativity. It is located in the sacrum.
The third (solar plexus) chakra is linked to the pancreas and is related to digestion, assimilation, and complex emotions. It is located in the solar plexus.
The fourth (heart) chakra is linked to the thymus and is related to high emotions, compassion, acceptance, and love. It is located in the heart.
The fifth (throat) chakra is linked to the thyroid and is related to communication, expression, and growth. It is located in the throat.
The sixth (third eye) chakra is linked to the pineal gland and is related to expanded awareness, awakening, and vision. It is located in the center of the forehead.
The seventh (crown) chakra is linked to the pituitary gland and is related to consciousness and connection. This gland communicates with the rest of the endocrine system. It is located slightly above the top of the head.
At this point we will deviate from the generally accepted material on chakras and correlate them to the seven intents found in the solfa syllables (see previous article entitled Ancient Intents Hidden Within the Solfa Scale). The seven syllables are do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti. The intents associated with these syllables are:
do -- preparatory intent to receive divine information;
re -- intent to resound or resonate with the divine;
mi -- intent to receive remarkable happenings or miracles
fa -- intent to release limitations
so -- intent to free, loosen, unbind, solve and resolve issues
la -- intent to open the vocal chords or enable expression
ti -- intent to abide in a state of divine peace and rest
We have now correlated the seven solfa syllables (intents) to the seven major chakras. Our next step is to apply frequencies (discussed in a previous article entitled Are Certain Frequencies Encoded in the Bible in the Book of Numbers) to these same chakras. The frequencies are: 396, 417, 528, 639, 741, and 852. We will apply these frequencies directly to the chakras using tuning forks created with each specific frequency.
When working with anyone using sound therapy, it is important that both the "giver" and the "receiver" of the sound therapy are hydrated. Drinking a glass of water will accomplish this. Water is a conductor of energy and our bodies are 70 percent water. The "receiver" should then lie down on a recliner, bed, or massage table. Music or nature sounds playing softly in the background is conducive to relaxation. Smoothing the aura of the "receiver" is accomplished by the "giver" running their hands about 1-1/2 feet above the body from the top of the head to the feet; repeating this motion several times. This simple motion will increase the relaxation of the "receiver".
Beginning with the base (first) chakra, strike the 396 Hz tuning fork on a rubber striker to produce a strong tone. Position the tuning fork above the base chakra (about 6 to 12 inches) and with the tines toward the body, begin circling the tuning fork in a clockwise motion. As you move the tuning fork in this circular (tornado) motion, begin meditating on the syllable "do" and the intent hidden therein. You may think about how the tone is preparing the "receiver" to receive and assimilate information from God or Spirit or Christ or Higher Self. Choose a term that resonates with you. You may strike the tuning fork and repeat your thoughts several times before you feel the unction to move to the next chakra. When you are ready for the next chakra, you will use the 417 Hz tuning fork and meditate on the syllable "re" and its intent to resonate with the divine mind. Basically, the same pattern is repeated with each chakra except that a different tuning fork and a different syllable, each with its own unique frequency and intent, is matched to each successive chakra.
This is a very simple and basic introduction in the use of sound therapy on the seven chakras using solfa intents and certain sounds to balance and relax the "receiver." In future articles we will introduce additional modalities to our "repertoire" such as color therapy, crystal therapy, and pendulum dowsing.
