Obtaining a green card through your employer or by marriage to a U.S. citizen are reasons to file for Adjustment of Status. You can also apply for Adjustment of Status if you have a child born on U.S. soil, or if you have a family member currently living as a U.S. citizen. The USCIS office will only accept legal copies of their forms. You can call and order the forms directly from them or by downloading them from their website.

The forms must have a signature and be completed in black ink.

You are required to show proof of your criminal history before a green card can be granted. With your completed application, you also need to include a legal copy of your birth certificate, a set of fingerprints, and two recent passport photos. You should also include an affidavit of support or a financial statement showing you have means to support yourself while in the United States.

Medical records and vaccine history records are also required.
