Anxiety Attacks & Alcohol, Partners In Crime
I know it seems to go against common sense, but, anxiety is actually caused by alcohol consumption. It's not caused while drinking, but afterwards, when the party's over!
To understand how this works we need to understand alcohol's effects on the brain and on the liver. Unfortunately, alcohol in excess damages both the brain and the liver, which are the two parts of the body which we have the most control over our mood and anxiety levels!
First, if the liver is compromised it makes it very difficult for your body to produce the neurotransmitters responsible for mood and for keeping our moods calm.
Your brain's neurotransmitter balance is effected by alcohol as these chemical structures are destroyed by alcohol. In addition, alcohol flushes valuable minerals and vitamins out of your body which could have acted as co-factors to build new transmitters.
Alright so with anxiety problems, alcohol has been established as a major contributing factor, but what can you do to get rid of these panic attacks?
Fight Back With These Proven Anxiety Cures
Well, there are many things you can do fortunately. You have to take back control. If you're going to drink make sure that you're taking vitamin C, a B vitamin complex, and supplemental magnesium. This will help keep you neurotransmitters up!
A moderate exercise program and a diet with fruits and vegetables will do wonders to protect your liver and your brain from the ill effects of alcohol as will cutting down on drinking.
Warning: Even if you cut down on alcohol and do all the right things, you'll likely fail in your efforts to control your anxiety attacks unless you take this one last step.
