An Unfortunate Side Effect of Menopause

One of the more frustrating things that can occur as a result of menopause is that you can begin to notice facial hair growth that is rather unsightly. Most women that experience this will commonly have it during the time whenever menopause is at its most active, which is roughly from one year after the end of her last menstrual cycle until her hormones in the body balance out. It is during this time of greatest fluctuation that hair growth on the face is typically recognized, along with the possibility of reduced hair on the head through a thinning process or dry or brittle hair.

The best way for you to understand how to handle this facial hair growth is to know exactly why it is occurring in the first place. Many women are unaware of the fact that they actually carry around all of the male hormones in their body for their entire life. In most cases, the female hormones and other things that take place in the female body tends to suppress the amount of these male hormones that are present. During that time whenever a woman is going through menopause, the estrogen in her body is greatly reduced and this may allow male hormones, such as testosterone, to grow in unusual numbers. Whenever this occurs, facial hair growth will often not be far behind it.

Handling this situation naturally may be a bit difficult but it certainly is not impossible if you're willing to be persistent with your efforts. Often, women will go straight to a doctor in order to get estrogen therapy to overcome the situation but this may come with some unusual side effects as well. If you have a homeopathic doctor, they will be able to give you the natural items which will help to balance out the level of estrogen in your body and to suppress the male testosterone and other hormones at the same time.

If you are dealing with facial hair growth at this moment, it may take a little while before the homeopathic treatment begins to take hold. Until that time, there are some things that you can do to remove the hair from your face so that it is unnoticeable for longer periods of time. This will include facial waxing, along with some more extreme methods, such as laser hair removal and nads. For the most part, however, the facial hair growth will disappear on its own once menopause is over.
