Alternative Ways to Make Money - What Are My Options?

Everyone could always use some extra cash. We are always looking for ways to squeeze the budget so we can put a little something into our wallets. The internet is probably one of the best alternative ways to make money. You have access to a global market and have countless options.

Sites like eBay and Craigslist are great alternative ways to make money. I have personally stopped doing garage sales as I can get rid of my junk faster (and with more profit) online. After I got married I found a stash of cards lying around and sold them on eBay for several hundred dollars. I also sold some spare car parts through Craigslist (a free classifieds website). People who bought from me were sometimes local most times not.

Believe it or not you can actually find real, legitimate jobs online. You can work from home as an online virtual assistant, a dictator (person who does dictation), a tutor; you can even turn your home into a call center. If you have the skills these are stable, alternative ways to make money. If you choose to go this route it is very important to keep one thing in mind: never pay to find "available" jobs. A legitimate website that is seeking employees to fill jobs will never charge you. Did you ever have to pay to send your application to your job? I hope not...

The "holy grail" of alternative ways to make money online is through websites and programs. Some people have traded their regular 9-5 jobs for working solely online and on their own time. They do this because it's convenient, flexible, and generally pays a lot more than their old salary. That being said, there are many routes you can take. There so many alternative ways to make money through websites and the payouts can be small or large.

If you're looking just for small, alternative ways to make money that will just supplement your income, survey and offer sites are probably for you. Essentially you are paid to participate in surveys or look at offers from different companies. These are called "tasks" and you receive a certain payout for each task completed. Keep in mind that the payouts range from small ($0.50) to large ($40). This all depends on what kind of task you do. The larger tasks generally involve spending more time or signing up for a free-trial.

Out of all the alternative ways to make money online, none is more profitable than affiliate marketing. In a nutshell, you are advertising a company's product. They pay you commission based on what the customer buys from them. The commission you receive isn't small either; it can be anywhere from 20%-75%. Be forewarned though, this requires a lot of time and patience. It isn't something that anyone can just pick up and start earning boatloads of money. If you have no idea what you're doing, invest in an online program. Your initial investment will probably not yield much right away. However, the earnings are exponential. If this isn't your cup of tea, there are many more alternative ways to make money using the internet.
